Combining the deception of the low kick AG5NT with the mid kick Nexus line, the Proto-R aims to take your game to the next level and keep you more versatile than ever on the ice. The stick uses a mid kick construction and the same boron materials used in the AG5NT, with an emphasis on balance and light weight.
The mid kick point is one of the most versatile kick points, positioned roughly in the middle of the shaft, providing a balanced flex profile and allowing players to generate greater power from both the lower and upper parts of the stick. It’s well-suited for a variety of shooting styles, including wrist shots, snap shots, and slap shots.
The stick uses a strategic integration of boron fibre, as seen in the AG5NT stick, to minimize weight and elevate the power behind every shot and release. The stick’s monocomp 1-piece construction further optimizes energy transfer, while the TeXtreme carbon fibre wrap not only provides exceptional strength but also serves as a robust shield against impact.
The core is made with an extra stiff core, delivering a heightened sense of recoil and an explosive pop with every contact with the puck. This design ensures players experience enhanced feedback and responsiveness when handling the puck, elevating their control and precision in crucial moments on the ice.
The stick uses a soft gloss grip, providing players with a comfortable and tactile hold on the stick.
The PROTO-R Senior hockey stick is available in the following blade patterns: P28, P88, P92, and P90T.
P92 is the best blade pattern for all-around play, with a mid-curve style. It is great at handling the puck in small spaces, including face-offs. This curve may suffer a little bit on the backhand.
P88 is a relatively traditional curve. A popular choice in the past, it excels greatly in stickhandling, quick wrist shots, and controlling snap shots.
P28 is a much more aggressive stick pattern, used often by elite players. This blade curve specializes in quick and accurate shots, but it can be a bit difficult to get used to since it is also very good at raising the puck.
P90T is a hybrid of the P92 and P28, with the lie of the P92 and the toe of the P28. Additionally, the curve is a bit taller for more control and power on faceoffs and board battles.
